From Kitchen to Countryside – How Two Goats Soap Became a Local Favourite

The Ballymoney Soroptimists gathered on Thursday, 1st May, at the Hub for a fascinating evening with guest speaker Dr Steven Johnston, the founder of Two Goats Soap.

Steven shared his inspiring journey from kitchen experiments to a thriving local brand, blending his passion for goat rearing with the art of soap making.

With a deep love for his Nubian goats – a hardy breed with roots in the Middle East and North Africa – Steven once had a herd of 22, now down to a cherished nine.

It was this bond with his goats that sparked his journey into soap making, starting in his kitchen just outside Ballymena. Today, his beautifully handcrafted soaps and shaving creams can be found at country markets across Northern Ireland and online, earning a loyal following.

Jennifer Campbell offered a heartfelt vote of thanks on behalf of the group, rounding off the evening with refreshments and the chance to purchase some of Steven’s creations – a fitting end to a night celebrating local entrepreneurship and passion.
