Wellbeing for All: Cloughmills Hosts Its First-Ever Community Health Fair

Get ready, Cloughmills – something special is coming to the village this June. With everything from reflexology to dietitian advice, the very first Cloughmills Community Health Fair is shaping up to be a must-visit event for anyone looking to boost their health, learn something new, or just feel a little more connected.

Taking place on Saturday, 21st June from 11am to 2pm at Cloughmills Community Centre, the Health Fair is free, inclusive, and open to everyone – and it’s packed with local experts, support groups and holistic wellness offerings that go far beyond your usual fair fare.

Among those attending are organisations like Farm Families Health, offering free health screenings (booking essential – call Maggie May on 07851 601785), as well as local mainstays such as Cloughmills Early Years, Eye Connection Cloughmills, Library NI, and Loughgiel Credit Union. It's a chance to connect with the services that support you and your family every day – and discover a few new ones you didn’t know were on your doorstep.

Wellness is at the heart of it all. Attendees can drop by stalls from the Fibromyalgia Support Group, NI Kidney Patient Association, and the Alzheimer’s Society, or speak with Roisin McToal, a registered dietitian, and Emma, a social worker from NHSCT. If you’re seeking alternative approaches, Reflexology by Lisa, Holistic Zen, Wright Footcare, Tropic, and Wonderwomb will be there to guide you through their natural wellbeing options.

And it doesn’t stop at health – you’ll find lifestyle and support offerings from Doulas of NI, Little Perch Designs, Ulster Motivational, Jayne Workman Slimming World & Essens, SPH Therapy, and NRC.

Plus, there’ll be plenty of information leaflets from organisations doing crucial work behind the scenes.

“This is our first Health Fair and we really hope it becomes an annual event,” says Charlene, a volunteer from The Giving Shed Helping Others.

“The support has been amazing – we just want to raise awareness and help our community access services that can make a real difference.”
